Made by two architects, Derick Henstra and Peter Fehrsen, Black Block Pinot Noir is a limited production wine
made with grapes sourced from a single block of a high lying mountain vineyard in the Tulbagh district.
Described as robust but elegant, rich in dark cherry fruit and almonds on the palate, Black Block Pinot Noir is an ideal
wine to accompany food. The 2013 vintage was rated 4 stars in Platters South African Wine Guide 2016,
a remarkable achievement for the newcomers. The 2014 vintage was released earlier this year.
Derick Henstra and Peter Fehrsen have been working together for nearly 20 years and share a lifelong interest in wine.
Having always had an aspiration to make wine, what started as a hobby soon became much more.
The pair decided to make Pinot Noir as they find it the most intriguing cultivar, elegant, evocative and versatile.
Black Block Pinot Noir is made by Derick and Peter under the mentorship of James Mackenzie.
